Hey girls- is it too soon to buy my dress?? My friends who hav eno idea about wedding planning are telling me its too soon-- I'm going to change my mind I should keep looking- or not look at all until later this year-- what do you think? Our date is 11/7/08-- what do you think?? Thank you!!

I would wait till the end of the summer. I am getting married 3 weeks after you. I am actually going next weekend with my cousin to look at dresses for fun. She is getting married July of 08 and wants to start looking and talked me into going with her because she wants the both of us to try on dresses together for fun. But i have no intention on buying a dress until around September or October.

i think wait a bit more, just incase you find something else you like. its not like the dress you already found is going anywhere so you can always order it later.

I may start looking at the end of the summer. I also hear that after thanksgiving is a good time to shop. The bridal shops are usually empty.

I may start shopping early but if they really are that slow durng the holiday season I may wait to make the purchase then. I figure they will want the business and will throw in extras. I also heard friday night is a good time to go...
It's funny because I was talking with my mom. We love each other but argue a lot and shopping with her is like a punishment. So I was joking with her and I said 'Mom I'm not looking forward to dress shopping with you. I may go out the first couple of times myself' She thought that was a good idea.
The summer is when the fall lines come out so I may visit 1 or 2 shops then.

My mom and I are the SAME way!!!
But yeah, i'm going to look, but if thats true, I'll def wait til November beginning of December to buy!

If it gets discontinued, is there still any way to get it? Will there still be certain stores that might have it in stock?

what season is it from? if its recent i wouldnt really worry, it will still be around a few months from now

I would wait...my friend ordered her dress back in June for a wedding in Jan 2008...she has had her dress since Jan 2007...then she got mad b/c she had no where to store it for a year and the shop wouldnt hold it for her...so I would def wait till it got closer.. what if you gain or lose weight?

Wait and wait some more. I know its exciting about trying to find your dress but like everyone said storage would be a issue and also people have the tendency to buy what they think is the 'one' dress and then four months go by and they found another 'one' dress and then have to sell the first dress. Not saying everyone has this problem but its happening.
I would try to wait till the end of the summer at least - the new styles will be out in July and the Jan. styles of 07 will be discounted slightly if not completely to make room for the new dresses. This way you have the opportunity to pick from var. styles.
I am getting married in march waiting till april to look and may not buy anything till the summer. never know though if i find 'the one' IoI

i Have gone shopping twice.....just to look i found two dreses that i love and cant chose between so i figure neither of them is THE ONE if i cant chose........I do want to have it by September though...so i dont think its to early to statrt looking...i just wouldnt commit to anything yet. Also take pictures of what you try on...so you dont forget which ones you liked..it gets confusing

Well, i would ask the bridal shop if there is a possibility it will be discontinued. Usually they will know if its a style that has been around for a while. Id def check with them.
