My FI says it's WAY too early to register. He thinks we should register in March....what do you think?
I told him our parents want to get things off the registry for christmas.........but he's still not budging.
I know my bridal showers are in March........
Maybe I'm wrong???

No way! You should do it ASAP so that people can buy you stuff for Xmas...

i registered early- and people took advantage to get engagement gifts & holiday gifts. i thought it was great! it can't hurt, and you can always redo things closer to the wedding.

get to registering woman! your FH doesn't understand the registry process...and the fact that you are gonna have a shower! some ppl like to buy early, and little by little.
my wedding is in feb 2007...we registered in march/april 2006. the registry laid at a standstill for awhile---but by about september or so maybe late august--a few things came off for people buying a little at a time!

we registered 2 weeks after we got engaged, which was just under 11 months before the wedding.
if u want people to give u egifts of things u want, then register! if not, u may end up with stuff u dont like.

We registered 18 months before the wedding, as soon as we got engaged. We got things for Christmas, birthdays, engagement party, shower, etc. You have 6 months until your wedding. I think you should register now to give people a strategy of what they want to get you for your shower. You can always add stuff to your registry, or change things.

the only thing about registering 'too early' is that seasonal stuff will change. there is winter stuff in stores now, by march that could change.
if you register for things that don't change with the seasons: flatware, serving utensils, dishes, etc you should be ok. and it would actually be a good thing because you'll get it out of the way.
once you've registered, you can always go online and change your registry.
in short, go for it!! just stay away from seasonal items right now

we're already starting because people keep asking, 'Where are you registered?', I guess they need/want ideas for the holidays and such.

yea we actually registered last month and are not getting married until sept 08, a lot of people were harassing us about it so that's why we did it.

It's definitely not too early!
I'd just wait for things that could be discontinued... like bedding, towels, etc.

We are getting married in May 2007 and we have been registered since this past May/early June. It gave me time to add, delete and change some items.

We got engaged in May and registered over the summer!
Our wedding isn't until next November.
So .... if you ask me ... its definitely not too soon!!!!
