I think the reason why they are normally in different spaces is that they need to set up the dining room differently than the cocktail hour.....but if the place normally does it that way they must have some way that it works? I've been to a wedding where you could see the main room from the cocktail hour, like an open space that is just divided somehow.....and that was fine

when i went to a wedding in upstate ny...it was in the same room.

my friends wedding in delaware will have the ch in the same room. the guests just sit at their tables instead of going to a diff room and having smaller tables.

we are getting married upstate and we booked a place a long time ago and just arranged our 1st real sit down to talk details and i was looking back at the pict we took there and i realized she never showed us a different room for CH so i just emailed her and she said its the same room....
it just kinda made me feel sad, idk why

Also most places that do this only have passed hordourves and not many stations if any at all- so it doesnt take up as much room.
