Re: Is it true....
I don't get it either Jenn. What are they attached at the hip? I would think that they would lose business that way, right?

Re: Is it true....
yay for me - post #202! (however, if they had a count for number of 'views' i'd be in the millions!)anyway - im pretty sure nelson got into the video thing because his wife was a photographer - so im thinking they just decided 'hey, let's make this a package deal' - kind of like all for one, and one for all. i dont think there is a big business plan behind it.
then again, what do i know?!

Re: Is it true....
Don't they have more than one photographer? Do you only have to book them for photo and video if you chose the wife as your photographer? I was thinking of looking there, but i hate policies like that :( I think I remember hearing that Glenmar has this policy as well, but I might be wrong.

Re: Is it true....
I feel like, with a lot of people, there are BIG Kickbacks in this business. I'm not putting Imagine down- I'm sure they are wonderful. But in this economy- I'm sure extra money on the side workd....You get one business (photo) and then they hand you over to the video guy that has a deal going with them for the business. I saw it with my venue- recommending people to me.

Re: Is it true....
If you love Imagine's pictures you shouldn't let the photo/video package deter you from meeting with them. In my opinion thier video is just as wonderful as thier photography and has the same style. I went to meet with several videographers and found Imagine's work to be excellent. They are booking up quickly so I guess many brides don't have a problem with their package deal.

Re: Is it true....
I agree with lulu.... what's the difference??? If they work well like that and that's what they offer... than there should be no problem.... They are videographers/photographers. Some places are like that. My photographer does video but that's not what they specialize in. In Imagine's case it's different. JMO.

Re: Is it true....
See, I wasn't going to say anything b/c I do not feel the need to defend Imagine Studios or their work, or their policy b/c it truly speaks for itself. Nelson is a videographer this is his job, it is not a side job for him, he has a lab, his equipement are top of the line, lightweight and from what I have seen in my video works very well. His work is wonderful, his style is creative and when he is with you on your wedding day you forget that he is there. Our video is awesome!!! Hands down!!!Lia the same thing, her pix are wonderful and they work great together. If they are doing it to make money so be it, I do not see it as Nelson not being able to pull his own, or vice versa, b/c I know he can, and she can, he might not be as well known as her but if this is how they choose to run 'their' business, who am I to say anything. They are business people and you can choose to do business with them or with someone else, whose policy you prefer.
We are very pleased with all aspects of their work, I cannot for a minute say he did not capture one single moment, or that she missed anything, people asked me if I had the wedding videotaped, that's just how unobtrusively they work. And everyone that has seen our pictures have been raving non stop In my eyes they are the best!!!
When they told us that we had to book them together, after seeing the quality work, we did not hesitate for a second. They are in business and they are in business together. If that is their policy that is their policy. Thank goodness for choices. If you do not like their policy you can always book with someone else.
I wonder if there was anyone here who was really interested, why you did not give Imagine a ring to ask them about their policy, obviously the people that booked both services with them did not have a problem with it.
Happy planning all.

Re: Is it true....
For the ladies who want to book imagine, go for it! They do incredible work.I just asked because I have heard of places offering both but I have never heard of HAVINg to book both, so I was just curious of the truth in it

Re: Is it true....
it's funny because i NEVER saw this post as negatively referring to Imagine - just thought it was addressing a curiousity!i dont think anyone meant to imply that their policy would/should be something to keep someone from booking them. i guess things just sometimes get misconstrued in this sort of forum!

Ditto what Shamma said!!!I used Imagine for both (although it was not required when I booked almost two years ago for a Sept. wedding) and I am SO happy with my decision. My pictures and video are amazing.

Re: Is it true....
We had to book both photo and video for the July wedding... After seeing a ton of photographers and given that I didn't care about the video as much as about the photo (i.e. I just wanted something very simple, no flying cartoon characters accross the screen, no baby pictures, etc), we booked imagine on the spot. I was previously totally against the multi-service type of places, but given that Imagine is a husband and wife team, it sort of put me to ease, and of course, the demo video we saw seemed nice to us, so we didn't have doubts there.I do think that this helps them to make that little extra bit of money, b/c I don't think if they booked separately they would have more work than if together.

Re: Is it true....
I used Imagine for both, so did my cousin. We have absolutely no regrets. You have all seen examples of Lias work. Well her husband Nelson is as much of an artist as she is. He was able to capture our wedding day and compose a video that is really artistic and beautiful. Its all in the editing.Welcome New Vendors
