I noticed that some reception halls have claimed that 'so many 2013 dates are filling up' .. do you think it is just a way to try to get us to book faster or are there other 2 1/2 year planners like us? I really wanted to take my time with this and not book until the summer

Thanks!!! I know it seemed weird... I might just call them under another name and ask what dates they have available to see if it was true or not....if it was not I will X them out.

Most places told me people were looking so we should seal the date. I think you still have lots of time. Most people who are getting married in 2013 probably are not engaged yet. lol Take your time and enjoy looking!

I think it depends on when too. If you take the 'like Saturday' holidays (Memorial day, vet's day) they go quicker, but most venues didn't open the 2013 book until January, so I think you're fine. Good luck!

Not sure on that question. I went to see the SC in sept and she said we were pretty much the first to book in 2013....but now, just seeing the population on the boards, more people are booking in 2013.
If there is a day you want and you love your RH, book. But totally don't book because you feel like you have to. My mom was saying a good rule of thumb is to book 2 years in advance, and i pretty much agree.

A lot of places will say that so that you freak out and book with them... Take your time and look around.. If you have a special day in mind and its open then I would go for it. I actually know girls that asked to see the book when RHs would say they were booking up so fast and one of them actually made an excuse that someone must have taken the book from his office.. I bet he didnt have one yet.. Like I said take your time and enjoy all your planning

I think the halls say that to try to push people to book... I def would not rush into anything....waiting till the summer should be completely fine!
