if it makes it any easier for you think of it as you being 'retro'

...I like you am 'retro' and am doing many traditional things although I and FH are usually very do our own thing kinda people. We surprised ourself once we talked about it how many traditional things we wanted..although we're still getting a little funky with it

...now bring on the stinking electric slide!!

Thank you!!!! Thanks to all you ladies. I think that I might be a bit afraid of showing my review and having everyone see me walking down the aisle with the blusher, doing the electric slide and doing the garter toss and then having ya'll think.....OMG...what a boring wedding!!! !!!

I want the traditional things too. And Im going to have all the corny songs minus the chicken dance and cotton-eyed joe and thats only because FH will kill me if theyre played!

no way! you will be having a great time and that will make it great! (and also, I didn't mean the blusher was uncool with my little story about asking FH....I just don't want it (partially b/c I think it will make me more likely to cry!)

hey if you want to go the traditional route with things---do it!!!!

a lot of ppl have their own spins and touches for their big days and change things--how about YOUR personal touch is taking it back to basics and do what you love!

I'm all for the traditional..there haven't been many weddings in my or FHs family recently, so I don't feel like the guests will be 'bored' at all..plus I think most of them expect a lot of it...hey maybe I have a cheesy group of friends/family hehe

I think if our circle of friends and family were getting married left and right that I might not go too traditional because we all might be bored of it..but I'm actually looking foward to all the traditional stuff!!

you will be suprised to know how many people still can't get enough of traditional weddings it is your choice go for it

to be honest as i was planning i said NO boK toss NO garter toss NO group dances

But as I have been to weddings lately I realize that these things are SO MUCH FUN! *AND* FH really wanted to do them ( who knew?) so at the last minute, as in our final meeting with the DJ I put them all back in !! And you know what? Now I am excited about it!

I think the traditional stuff is great and if people don't like it, it is over in like five minutes and they can move on!

Your wedding could never be boring if you having the time of your life and are happy. Your guests will have a great time because they are at your wedding celebrating this great event with you, so they'll be happy and have a great time to. Do what makes you and FH happy!

I'm older and it's my first time getting married and other than the garter/bok toss I plan on doing all the other 'retro' (thanks Empressdani) things because that's what I want at my wedding. I totall respect that others don't have the same taste and I'm comfortable with my decisions. You should be too.
