I know it`s a popular place - my fi and I went there to look, but it was pricy, and I had to guarantee almost double the guest list I was planning. Plus, the woman we met with wasn`t too willing to negotiate or assist us much. Then again, I`ve heard others had a great experience there, and it is a gorgeous place. If we had the money and guest list, I would have chosen it!

Lands End is a beautiful place!! the view of the water is incredible!! If you aren't into the whole reception on the water, but want the excellent food that Lovin Oven offers they have other places. There are a couple in NYC...there is also Flowerfield (they too are expensive) and there is a hall in Patchogue called West Lake Inn. I'm getting married at West Lake Inn and the price is VERY good. They do not offer any grounds like their other places, but its the same food and service as their higher end places. My FI and I have been very pleased with the service that we have been receiving. You need to decide what is most important to you when picking a reception hall. If you have your heart set on having it on the water...then Lands End is a fantastic choice. We were there for a wedding in October 21, 2000 and it was WONDERFUL!! Good Luck! Lisa

My opinion

I just went to a wedding there on 5/19 The view and grounds are amazing -- inside though is very plain-- just very high ceilings with not much decoration-- it depends on what you are looking for--the service was good-- and the food as well-- the cocktail hour was not extravagant--meaning choices-- but the outside is def breathtaking good luck Laura
