Is lead crystal...

DANGEROUS???? My FI got a good deal on some lead crystal glasses on the Miksasa website BUT he is afraid that since they are 'lead crystal' that they are dangerous to use...Does anyone know???

Just from searching on Google.com it seems like it's only dangerous if you're storing foods, etc. in these items.
