I was just thinking- what do brides-to-be do without LIW? How do they plan their weddings?
This got me thinking to the money aspect. Many brides share their discount websites, money saving ideas, and DIYs.
However, on the other hand, many brides also give ideas about add-on's, extras, enhancements, etc. that may have never otherwise crossed your mind.
I was trying to figure out if LIW was costing me more money, or saving me money.
I personally think, LIW may be causing me to add on some extras. If it wasn't for LIW, I would have never known what a DOC was, and wouldn't have ever thought of booking one. Also, personalized napkins and matchbooks- I first saw those through LIW (although there's a good chance I would have found them on my own). A cardbox? Never thought of getting one before LIW.
Of course, I don't mind. Yes, I'm spending more money, but its only to make my wedding that much better.

I dont think its costing me anymore. The things I am doing for my wedding were things we were planning on already.

im torn-i think the biggest way liw is saving me money is through my vendors-my florist videographer and dj came from here and prob saved me at least 1k..at least
i really think the only things this site has made me spend more money on is my card box, and boudoir photos..but im happy im doing those
plus i won my invitations through a company i found on here, so that saved a ton!!

i really think the only things this site has made me spend more money on is my card box, and boudoir photos..but im happy im doing those

I don't get caught up in the hype.
I do what I want.
I think I'll come out even; I am definitely savibg in some areas and not in others, but I don't think it's gonna cost me more per se

matches and cocktail napkins.......? Never would have done them.
Personalized menus? Would have never ever happened...
Don't even GET ME STARTED on the uplighting, the live dinner singer, or the percussionist.
They are all great ideas for sure, but I would have been a no-frills wedding kind of girl had it not been for this website and all the things I MUST. HAVE. IMMEDIATELY. or everyone will think my wedding is GROSS AND TACKY.
I have to say, without LIW -- wedding planning would have been 1000x more boring and I would HATE it. I love bouncing off each and every idea off everyone. Who else would listen to me talk about the wedding all day?!

probably more money due to ideas and add ons i have found on here. HOWEVER my wedding will me alot better because of the attention to detail i would have never done if it wasnt for LIW

it hasnt cost me more being on LIW but it has helped me find alot of things that I would have forgoten or never would have though of having. I am the first one in my family to get married in a long time so its an experience for the whole family. But now I know lots of things when my sister finally gets married.

lol, a little bit of both. I've found ways to save money but I end up spending the money I've saved on things that I've seen on LIW that I like. So I'm not really spending more than I intended, I guess.

I think I'm breaking even. Because of LIW we have come in way under budget on almost every vendor except florist (but we under budgeted for our florist, because I forgot we needed a chuppah...so we're at budget for that) but then again there are things that I'll be doing now that I wouldn't have before.
Maybe we'll save a little more than we would have.

ETA: but I can't imagine planning my wedding without LIW!!!! A friend of mine just got married, and I don't know how she did it without the help of LIW.
