I was just thinking- what do brides-to-be do without LIW? How do they plan their weddings?
This got me thinking to the money aspect. Many brides share their discount websites, money saving ideas, and DIYs.
However, on the other hand, many brides also give ideas about add-on's, extras, enhancements, etc. that may have never otherwise crossed your mind.
I was trying to figure out if LIW was costing me more money, or saving me money.
I personally think, LIW may be causing me to add on some extras. If it wasn't for LIW, I would have never known what a DOC was, and wouldn't have ever thought of booking one. Also, personalized napkins and matchbooks- I first saw those through LIW (although there's a good chance I would have found them on my own). A cardbox? Never thought of getting one before LIW.
Of course, I don't mind. Yes, I'm spending more money, but its only to make my wedding that much better.

I think it's actually saving me money, since I've notebooked threads that are geared towards how much we'd like to spend on various vendors.
Also, I'm very DIY - I've always been crafty and will be putting this talent to use. DIY invites, menus, (maybe) STDs, flowers, paper flowers, donation scrolls, etc. etc. etc.
I'm enjoying the process (FH is too!); I feel like if you don't enjoy all of the planning, then why bother? Of course there are stressful times, but the overall feeling should be one of enjoyment.

definitely costing me more, like everyone said with DOC, personalized napkins and matchbooks, B-pics, but hey these things will be awesome and well worth it
I don't think so - I think it makes me feel better when I see what everyone else is doing and I am cutting my costs

LIW probably caused me to spend more than we orginally planned, but I really don't mind. You ladies also shared best practices / prices with vendors, so I definitely saved a lot too.

My immediate reaction is YES IT HAS! Because it has caused me to spend some money on extras, like napkins, matchbooks, cake topper, menus, etc. BUT it has also saved me money because I have found GREAT and CHEAP vendors!
So I think that saving hundreds and thousands on vendors actually saves me more, even though I spent tens-hundreds on extras.

Not costing me more. I'm doing the same things that i would have done w/o liweddings. (But who would I talk about them with?!)

i don't think it has caused me to spend more or save any money up until this point at least. i think the site does make me a bit more nervous then if i was planning without it. its nerve wracking when i see how far along in booking vendors some people are while i am tagging along

this is such a great question! i never thought that it could be costing me money..... but now that i think of it, i think it is!!! hahahaha i had nooo idea what b-pics were before LIW, i also wasnt considering custom napkins and such, but i guess in the end it all adds up and it is costing me money. money well worth it!!!

COSTING!!! I am learning about things I never even knew existed and obviously then I want them. I am a pretty good DIY'er though so all those tips are helping too.
I don't care though each detail I add and learn from LIW is going to make our day that much more special!

ITA- it balances out for me. I would have never ever known what the going prices were for any vendors so I wouldve prob agreed to so many more quotes than I did if it wasnt for you girls. On the other hand its costing me a little more with certain add ons, etc. but Im not doing too much extra so...

Great question! It is definitely costing me more money, but it is SO worth it. I wouldn't have thought of even half of the great ideas I've gotten on here. I know my wedding is going to be extra special because of LIW. You girls are the best!

Definitely costing me $$$$$$$$!!!!!!! since i tried DIY and discovered that i was absolutely horrid and couldnt glue to things together if my life depended on it, i just read about more and more add ons lol

definitely costing me more bc of all the little extras....however without LIW I wouldn't have found all my awesome vendors.
