sigh its so depressing. I would love to have my wedding at Oheka. I wonder what is the overall cost for a bride and groom who want to have a wedding at Oheka castle. Does having a wedding at Oheka Castle automatically mean spending 100k or more on your wedding?

Re: Is Oheka realllly that expensive??

I looked up the hempstead house online, there isn't any info on holding an event there. it seems expensive, looks like you would have to call in outside caterers.

but i did see the episode with david tutera, looked it up right after!

sighhh

i feel like im never going to like anything we can afford!!!

anyone know anything about vanderbilt mansion or bourne mansion? price-wise? seen photos of it, looks beautiful and expensive!

Lessings has many mansions to choose from that are beautiful and much more reasonable than Oheka. We got married at the Vanderbilt Mansion last October.....it was an amazing day and gorgeous mansion!! Lessings is a pleasure to work with and their food is out of this world!!! My guests are still telling us how amazing and different our wedding location was and how much they LOVED the food! There is a site fee....I paid $2500 but you get $1000 back about 1 month after the wedding....it was a security dep.

Look into it....it cant hurt. FM me with any questions and pics are in my album.

Re: Is Oheka realllly that expensive??

For May 2011, I got quoted for $300pp and I believe the site fee is negotiable, but it was about $10k.

I hear the food isn't that great (we tried the food they offered us, which was ok) but I can't say for sure because I never attended a wedding there. I expected to walk in and be WOW'd, but I wasn't...

The back of Oheka, where they take most of their advertisement pics, is the best part...

thanks girls! im going to see bourne and vanderbilt this weekend!!

I agree that Id rather spend the money on a new home...I think any bride can have just as beautiful of a day without spending all that money on Oheka..

I very well mayyyy just go take a looksie! to get a tour!

why depressed, July2011 !??

you are going to have a FAB wedding regardless with / without O. Castle... esp with your vision, your dress your planner and your A-list vendors... you got this!!

I always feel like the place doesnt make the party.. the people it in do.. yes of course, the venue set the tone but you dont have to spend $100k to have a good time for 6hrs... the bride reviews on here have prove that time and time again..

Why not check out the hempstead house??? we considered booking there, but it was too small--it holds up to 275

it's an $8,000 site fee (but you get to be there for 8 hours!) and you do used outside caterers..and they didn't know exact quotes, but i think i heard them saying something along the lines of $15,000 for 150-200 ppl which is not bad at all IMO

Re: Is Oheka realllly that expensive??

It's around an $11,000 site fee. Not only that though, I've been there and where they do the catering for the weddings is not as impressive as the rest of the castle. IMO, it's a waste of money. There are much nicer (and cheaper) places to get married.
