I had my MOH tell me the date, so what I am a party pooper LOL. I wanted to know so I could plan other things ie volunteer work and fittings and any final things that I have to do as the date draws closer. She wanted me to block off all Saturdays in June and July, how ridiculous is that. She was so upset. I don't think it is a big deal. I will still have fun as long as all my friends are there. What do you ladies think??

I don't think it is a big deal if you know the date. It wont make the day any less special.
I knew a date, but they lied and told me the week after it actually was.
It was a suprise and actually a thousand times better. Plus my first gift was from my Fiance and was a weekend to go out and see him in Colorado (he's in the Air Force)
So, not only did they throw me off but they made sure I was free from any obligations the week after to go on my trip.
They brought a change of clothes for me, but I didn't shower that morning b/c I was doing my MOH a favor and picking her up from the LIRR (liar, that girl is, lol)
But it was magical, and very special.
If ya have great girls, it will be great no matter what. But if you have great girls and they pull it off as a suprise it is amazing.

Mine is supposed to be a surprise. But I found out the date by accident. I don't know who's going to be there, so that will still be a surprise. And I'm trying to be good and not check my registries, so at least that will be a surprise as well.
I thought it was the Sunday after the Sunday it was. My girls and FH and Mom were all in on it and tricked me with a few dates. They got a kick out of it, but every bride is clever and is going to try to figure when her shower is. I agree with 070502 - I had such fun and was so happy - more with it being a surprise than anything! :-)
We are only going to be engaged for 6 months, so that didn't give my sister a lot of time to plan. She had to ask me for addresses, and said that a couple of people who are coming from out of town may be here for the shower, so I already know that it has to be in the next few weeks, since our date is 6/22/02. So, I still don't know where and when, but I will be somewhat suprised. I even bought Thank you cards already! My FSIL just had her suprise shower this saturday, and it was 4 months before the wedding, so she was really surprised!
My shower was a surprise. I thought I was going to my FSIL's surprise 30th birthday party instead it was a surprise bridal shower for me. The girls did a wonderful job with lying to me even my FH too. I had a wonderful time and I wouldn't have want to know about it before hand because I hate surprises.
My bridal shower is a suprise. I have no idea when it is or where it is going to be. I keep telling my fiancee that Im going to find out but so far he's done a good job keeping it a suprise.
I pretty much know when mine will be because I live in Florida and most of my BM's (5 out of 6) live up north...so I have a trip planned to PA for a weekend in July so I'm guessing it will be then. But that's all I know about it so whatever they do will be a surprise.
ALTHOUGH...3 of them will be here at the end of the month (and the 6th one lives here in FLA) so maybe they are being tricky...either way I know it will be a blast.
Mine is hopefully going to be a surprise but none of my friends and family have ever been able to pull something like that before :)
I think it is more fun for your friends and family to surprise you. I probably would not have asked anyone to tell me the date. Somehow the stuff works out just fine.
my mom and sister told me it would not be a surprise b/c they need my help preparing!!!
I don't mind...I don't get all dressed up to go out with my family, so at least I am warned...
Mine was a complete shock - and it was so amazing. My fiance openned the door to the room it was in (he had told me we were going to see our band at one of their gigs to talk about our song list etc) and I was looking around going- I think I know these people. Too funny! Plus it was amazing to see all the out of town people suddenly in front of me.
I was wearing sneakers, jeans and a tee shirt - but that made it even funnier!
