Ossining has good parts and not so good parts. I know some people who live there. If you have any specific questions, FM me.

Look up HOMES.com and go to the neighborhood section for the crime stats...

It's it Putnam County, I think. Off the Taconic. I would be frightened to go there but then again I am not a career criminal.

I think it is. My friend lives there-never heard her complain about crime-will ask her though.

Re: Is Ossining a nice area?

Like someone else said, there are nice areas and not so nice areas. Ossining is still Westchester County, not Putnam. I have friends that live there (I live in White Plains) and they live in a really nice building. I also have a woman I work with who lives there and sends her 2 kids to public schools. Ossining is right next to Briarcliff, which is a wealthy area. I don't know where you work, but just to give you an idea of travel times, White Plains is about 20-25 minutes away, from Ossining to the Throggs Neck or Whitestons is probably about 35 minutes, and to get into the city I would say it's about a 50-60 minute car ride. Hope that helps!
