Well this is a place we can all express our opinions and I'm not going to take it any further, having the person I love in the line of danger makes my feelings for this situation so strong. But I hope that one day that reporter suffers even if it is just a little for what happened to Mr. Berg. God bless our troops and may they impose as much suffering on those 'poor Iraqi' people (and I use that term lightly) as they feel it necessary.

'I'm SICK of the hypocrisy of conservatives- using 'moral' codes of religion when it is self serving- gay marriage, abortion, etc... but when it comes to blowing the whistle on prisoner abuse (not to mention some pretty sick 'homosexual' abuse- self sodomizig, etc.) it's wrong of the person who told? What is that even about?'

Here is what it is 'about'

I am sorry that while my FH risks his life for this country in a far off place, the real danger is at home. Those pictures had no right being exposed while our men and women are still in that country! It is not their fault they are doing their jobs and I may add fighting for the freedoms that I'm sure you enjoy daily.

And those men & women overseas had no right being ordered to sodomize and torture POWs... THAT IS NOT AMERICAN... Upholding basic human rights is what your FH was supposedly sent over there to do in the first place. Get rid of the threat of Saddam AND make Iraq a better place to live for th Iraqis... well, sticking things up men's A55es isn't how you go about making Iraq a better place to live..

Instead of hating and blaming the media and people that question this war... question your government and WHY they are inhibiting your FH's effectiveness in his position with not enough man power and not enough money?

The media didn't create this situation, GEORGE BUSH DID... those terrorists who killed Berg didn't need and excuse to do so, they've hated us from day 1... and treating them the same way they treat us makes it worse b/c it gives the terrorists more power.

Stop using the media as a scapegoat and look at the real problem, your FH's EMPLOYER

Well said!!!

I am not going to tell you what I think of this post because I enjoy using this board in planning my wedding. All I will say is that my FH and his employers past and present give you the right to sit at your computer and have these conversations so I wouldn't be to critical of the job they do. Not all of us are brave enough to sign up for the tasks MY FH does daily!

I think that we should be critical of what leaders do. They are the ones who put our soldiers lives in danger fro ordering such henious actions (there is no way those soldiers unilaterally decided to start systematically torturing the prisoners)

I appreciate all the freedoms that we have because of our soldiers defending them. And one of those rights that we have is the right to be critical of the job they do and speak out when their actions do not reflect American ideals.

In answer to the topic, I do not think that the whistleblower is a hero, just someone who stood by his convictions, and acted on them.

NO I don't think he's a hero. He's just a snitch. I wouldnt spit in his face, but I do wonder how he sleeps at night knowing a man lost his head because of what he did.

I agree with you... there are so many things that happen that we are unaware of... I am not sure that the public needed to see this.

Personally i don't really mind the whistle blower...I just don't think it had to be publicised right now....We have a lot of men and women there and it scares me what these sick people will do to any POW...NOT all of them torture our POW...Yes they are sick and i do think we gave them more of a reason to torture our POW...
Yes there was killing before, there will be killing after (even though i pray not). But the fact that these terrorist were able to use or even say that they cut of Nick Bergs head as retaliation MAKES ME SICK! Even if he is the only one or one in 1000, we allowed them to say that!

I think that the 'whistle blower' isn't the evil, i do believe it is our media that had to broad cast these images that was uncalled for...

MY OPINION

I agree that the media had a responsibility to us too....and they FAILED...there was no reason for any of it to become public...for the sake of the suffering parents/families at the very least.

I dont think the whistle blower so to speak was to balme , he could not have known the results of his actions and he cannot then have the weight of blame on his shoulders, thats not fair! If it wasn't him, it would have been someone else. I think maybe if he hadn't said anything, it would have gone even further...there is no mistaking what we did was wrong, so why are we punishing him by saying he broke an oath? His oath was to protect and fight for our country not watch some very dumb people take 'CONTROL' they way they saw fit for laughs etc....

A hero though..NO....Hereo's are defined differently...he was simply IMO a moral person who did not stand for what he saw, simply as that, some think he was right, some think he was wrong...but I dont agree with anyone crucifying him now when he did what he felt was the 'right' thing...
