Is there a name for this?

I have seen weddings where the bride and groom have their names or monogram projected onto the dance floor during their reception. Is there a name for this? Anyone have an idea of price?

I forgot the exact name but its usually part of a lighting package. I got quoted a price of around $2000 to do overall lighting effects on my party tent.

I think it's called a customized name plate. We booked with FM Entertainment and it was $200 extra

Yeah, I forgot, many DJ companies did offer to do that spot lighting as they usually light the dance floor somehow anyway.

Bands don't do this right? Bc I always liked it... but I don't think we're having any special lighting

Not necessarily, almost everyone I know had to pay for theirs-yes the DJ will do it but its extra

gobo lighting.. usually around $125 with a DJ or lighting company

It's def. called a gobo....I've never heard of it being included in the DJ package...I had to pay additional fees for mine.

Agreed - it's a gobo, and to have a custom one made, it's usually $25! If you're paying more than that...it's a HUGE rip-off.

but there's another option if that's out of your budget.

Several companies, (Oriental Trading included) sell dance floor decals.
They aren't as complicated or flashy but they are still impressive.
I wish i'd found them before my wedding i totally would have done that.

What DJ's are you girls using that offer this. I am still trying to find one to book. I'd like this gobo lighting, as well as photo montage..... thanks.
