Is there a rule I don't know about stockings the day of the wedding?
My mom is insisting on buying me thigh highs to attach to my corset for the day of the wedding. I told her I dont want to wear pantyhose that day. She's like 'well what are you going to wear than?' I said 'Nothing'. So she is all bent out of shape about my legs showing in pictures. For no particular reason. She just thinks it looks terrible to show your legs and not white pantyhose in the pictures.
I don't get what the big deal is

UM......don't wear them if you don't want to. i'm not....and i personally would never wear white pantyhose unless i was a nurse trying to play it old school.
eta----likely it will be hot...that's just one more layer....ugh...

I am not wearing any. I am getting married in August. With the slip, dress, etc.. there is no way I am wearing stockings. Not body is going to see my legs anyway!!!

That what I thought. But my mom is insisting I should b/c we are doing the garter. I think it is ridiculous.

My mom wanted me to wear them too,but I said no. I hate stockings. I'm certainly not going to start wearing them in July, under a big dress!

Here is a laugh, I got married in 80 degree heat with a very heavy gown. I bought thigh highs because I was told it was the 'thing to do'. Well, as I pulled up the first thigh high, i heard a loud RIP and there went the thigh highs.
In the end, i'm glad I didn't wear them, wayyyy to hot. Do what you want!

How would anyone know? How would they show in pictures? Do you have a 1980s miniskirt gown that we don't know about?

my grandma asked what color hose I was wearing....I responded color??? im not wearing them PERIOD!
She made a face, but I dont care, its my legs! no one will notice anyway!

Well I think this is more of a generational thing than anything else.
You could always put them on right before the garter stuff.
I wore them, but was married in Sep.

I never wear stockings and I DEFINITELY wouldn't at the wedding. Whenever I see pics from other brides of the 'foot' shot, they are never wearing stockings.
