Can I give you price ranges for mental health facilities in the area instead? I don't know how you're going to deal with 3 weddings in a year, but I certainly hope your children appreciate you!

Jann, I'm hysterical laughing! I needed that. My oldest son is not engaged yet, but Attica, as you know we are Greek and they have started seeing the priest about her converting. He said it will all depends upon how long it takes and not to expect a long engagement. And wait til you hear this. In her culture the groom's side pay for the wedding! A friend said it best - too bad the entire family isn't converting.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding was us!
My son-in-law actually had a friend ask if he would have to live next door to us, and his answer was - 'I can handle that. They live in Manhasset.' We let him down easy - no house at the end of the wedding!

When I registered at Fortunoff, I saw an area where there were a few different bridal mags. One of them was nothing but reception sites in the NY area. They gave good details and approximate prices. I think it was something like 'Reception Sites and Services' or something like that. I've also seen it in Barnes and Noble and Borders.

Tracy, thanks. I'm still burnt out from my daughter's wedding and I was hoping for easy answers. LOL! I still have to look for a gown for one son's wedding in Nov. and then see what's going to happen with this other son's. That's the price one must pay for a large family. There's no control over when the love bug bites.

There's a site called Wedding Sites and Services and it lists a lot of the reception halls in the NY area. There's a drop down menu that you just choose the region you're interested in and it gives you a whole bunch of info on that particular hall including the price ranges. It should give you a good idea of price but as I'm sure you already know from your daughter's wedding, prices for the more popular months tend to be higher. Good luck! I hope they give you some time!

Thanks LeeMarie. That sounds like a great list. I hope there is at least 6 months after his brother's wedding, but I can't force it. I'm as concerned about the guests as much as I am about ourselves. Three wedding are hard on everyone.

Hey !!
Long Island Weddings of Distinction Magazine gives a good review of places and prices. This magazine was really helpful to me when I was on my reception hall search. Sometimes if you go to catering halls, they might have it displayed and you can get it for Free.
