Since we live out of state, our trips and time up on LI are limited, many family members live out of state, money is limited, we might not be able to have a shower. I know we're not planning on throwing one for ourselves, but no one else I know has any money at this point, so I'm not expecting one. I don't know if I was looking forward to it or not since I've never been to one? I really didn't want to have a Bridal Shower for just me, I wanted to have a Couple Bridal Shower for both of us since we both never get to see anyone on LI since we don't live there. I don't know... I was just wondering if anyone else knows they won't be having one might make me feel better.

Re: Is there anyone out there not having a shower?
Hi Melissa,
I am not having a shower party by choice. I have lived on my own for a long time, as has my FH prior to our living together. We have everything down to Christmas china. I would rather have guests spend the money on coming to the wedding, as a good portion will be from out of the area.
My BM said that I should have one, but I have given my MOH strict orders not to do it. I hate people making a fuss over me, and I don't want to add to anyone's expense.
I registered only because people may want to get a present rather than give money for the wedding.
I don't feel as if I will missing anything, probably because I don't feel I need anything. Hope that makes sense.

I'm not. We had an engagement party, so I think a shower also would have been too much.

Yeah... My FI Godmother threw us a surprise E-party last May. There was about 70-80 people there. It would be an added expense for everyone. Also, the wedding would be only a month away, and then they'd have to worry about a wedding gift also. I personally don't care for one, everyone just says it something you should definitely have.

Don't feel bad
Don't be so upset. It's not a big deal. They are boring, I didn't even want one, but my mom insisted.
When you think about it, its really just a bunch of women sitting around oohing and ahhing over toasters, blenders, glasses and pots. Not really my idea of happening party!
