Just thought of this- if you do a donation instead of favors you can write that off.

Well, you can donate your flowers or favors which are tax deductiable. Please note that that need to be at least 10% of your AGI and you need some proof on your tax form in case if they audit you.

someone told me that the church 'donation' is deductible...and anything that is charitable. like there is a dress place that is non-profit and the $ goes to charity (so im guessing that would be a deduction???) but that info didnt come from an acct so i dont know if its true or not
i would ask an acct when u do your taxes this yr
i need to remember to ask

Ugh I wish! DH and I did our taxes yesterday and I half joking half seriously asked! Unfortunately, no. Darn! Well, let me rephrase that, we were able to write off the donation to the church.

IF you itemize your deductions, you can write off sales tax paid OR state income tax paid. For most of us, NYS income tax paid is going to be higher. Also, the gov't gives you a standard deduction of $10,300 if you're married, so if your itemized deductions (things like charities, state tax OR sales tax, mortgage interest, r/e tax) are higher than the $10,300 then there's a benefit, but unless you own a home, you're generally going to just take that standard deduction because you won't have enough deductions to get up to that $10,3000 that the gov't gives you. Again, that's all GENERALLY, of course there are exceptions when it comes to having enough deductions to itemize.
