I got engaged in March, booked my hall in July and went looking for a dress last month for the first time. I was really excited to book the hall, and go dress hunting the first time- but it wore off kind of. As good as it felt to put those dresses on and realize i was going to be walking down the aisle soon- I am not busting to go looking every weekend. My mother and sister are more antsy to go them I am. is there something wrong with me that I dont want to go looking almost every weekend?

I don't think that there is anything wrong with you at all! I think that it is common for brides to get really into planning in different waves. For example, you may be really into planning for some time and then want a break from planning for a while. If you're not feeling it right now maybe you should hold off on looking at dresses until you feel ready.

I definitely felt the same way. I got engaged June 2008, and started planning IMMEDIATELY!! Then Fall came and everything was at a stand still- I didn't look at LIW until around May or June of this year. I got the bug back and now....its gone. You have 2 years so its ok to get in and out of the feeling. I think anyone that would be thinking of their wedding for 22 months straight would be a bridezilla. Its stressful to plan on your own (plus if you are paying for it yourself like most of us are).

I felt this way about booking the hall..then I waited a few weeks to look at photographers now I waited again. I just want to make sure we make the right decision.
Plus saving $$ is a biotch
This is why it's good to have a long engagment so you don't have to feel so much pressure

I felt the same way...I went from super excited and productive booking things and now i feel like im in a lull. I think it will pass. You have plenty of time to go for dresses so just wait till you want to do it!

I booked all of my major vendors right away...hall, photographer, dj, florist. I was very excited and wanted to do everything right away and now i am at a stand still. I have no intensions on even looking at dresses until January. Take your time...this is your parade. move at your own pace
