FH has been thinking for awhile about what to get his gm's..they are all young guys. Everything I suggest he hated... cuff links, flasks.. he didnt want any of that. The only thing he liked were yankee tickets but we are getting married in Feb. and its not baseball season yet so I couldnt even buy them in advance. They all have really nice cars that they are obsessed with and FH wants to give them all a gift certificate to get their car detailed after the winter ' since everyone has to detail it anyway' and he knows its something they will definitly use. Is that a weird thing to give???

I think it's a great idea and something they will actually use. It is a very thoughtful gift!

Thank you!! I was so unsure if it was an 'appropriate' gift to give... im just used to seeing everyone get a shot glass or cuff links..

I agree. It may not be a 'traditional' GM gift, but it useful and personal.

i think it's an awesome gift idea. honestly, how many times will those guys wear cufflinks??? we gave the GM flasks, and i haven't seen any of them use them since the wedding (although they got PLENTY of use that day)!!

Another idea to get guys - especially if they are handy - is leatherman tools - my FSIL is thinking of getting her one for her GMs

I didnt vote but FH would love that idea since he is so into his car it makes me sick. But the BM has a older truck that he takes to work everyday. He is an iron worker and his last two cars were totaled on the bridge he was working on. So I dont know if he would go for soemthing like that. I think it depends on the guys the other GM wouldnt appericate it either. So it wouldnt be a good idea for us but if your guys are into their cars I think it is a great idea..
ps One of the Grooms on this site has a detailing business I think his name is scott ??

I really like that idea...shows you put some thought into it and its something they can USE! We are going with sports steins with their names on it because they are huge sports fans but in the end its not practical..go with your idea!

But he know his friends so if they are guys that love their cars, it's a great gift.
