But I got a big barbie gift bag (is she too old for barbie?) and I filled it with 3 judt blume books and a DVD of A Series of Unfortunate Events (she mentioned liking this movie) I also put in some stickers.
Do you think this appropriate or is it too babyish for a 10 y/o

hmmm it depends on the 10 yr old. Some may have outgrown barbie by 10 but others still might be into it. Very creative gift!

Yeah, Barbie is really for younger girls now. Even though I played with them until I was 12

Last I checked she liked Barbie.,.but you never know.
Is the other stuff ok? I kind of bought it on a whim and I cna easily return it, since I bought it where I work.

the gifts themselves are perfect! the bag could go either way, but if you know she liked barbie in the recent past it should be good. which judy blume books??

otherwise known as sheila the great, tales of a 4th grade nothing (shes in 4th grade) and I think superfudge..one of the fudge books. They were on salke at BJ's and I thought, i read them when i was about her age, so maybe she'll like them!
Do you think the stickers are too babyish? they're just random stuff, one is disnet princesses, one has bears...I just figured they'd be cute. She can put them on letters or something

Double Fudge is the most recent Fudge book and I heard it was great!

THose books are great The stickers are a good idea too.
About the bag - quite a few of my fourth graders have Barbie or BRATZ bookbags. She may not be too old. It just depends on her taste

ditto. girls these days are a lot older. my 5th graders... abercrombie, limited too, not barbie.

Yeah, the bag may be a bit young. But the books and dvd sound perfect. I loved Judy Blume when I was that same age.

I think it depends on the kid - for the books too. Some will have read them already. Great ideas though!

I love the book idea & the DVD, the stickers sound fine, but I'd be a bit hesitant with the bag. I know that by 4th grade even if some girls are still playing with Barbie, it may not be something they 'announce' to their friends. The other gifts sound great! I loved those books when I was her age.
