Is this a good price for photography?

I received a quote of $2600 for just photo including 33 pics in my album and 2 parent albums. Is this a good price, or can anyone recommend a photography studio with better pricing???

What
s included in that? If it has at least 10 hours of coverage and you get all proofs and negatives, and it's done on fi;m, that's a GREAT price...if not, it's ok.

ETA: I think you get a lot for the $$ with Artisan Photo. FM me if you want info

Well i guess i really didn't ask enough questions. My dad used him for his second marraige so he didn't get an album just the proofs....he charged him 800.00 just for the proofs.

We are planning the wedding quickly so i didn't think we would have much of choice being that we are getting married on July 3rd.

Were you happy with the proofs from your dad's wedding? Definitely ask more questions. I'm an insane anal retentive freako when it comes to photography

Yes i liked them... i'm really not too picky about it i just want something to remember the day. I just don't want to pay a lot and wasn't really sure about prices.

So with just those 3 albums and nothing else do you think i could do better?

yes

Re: Is this a good price for photography?

I think it depends on what kind of work you want. You can probably get cheaper, but I don't know what kind of qualty you can get.

Also don't forget that you might need thank yours, pics for the BP and larger prints to hang up in your house....the artisan package I mentioned also includes as many thank yous as you needm, a group BP photo for all the BM's, and a few enlargements to hang up...

So I think even with artisan, you could get a lower price if you want to take out some of the stuff in the package....

Or if you really like the guy you were planning on, really check what's in it, because if he's gonna charge you more for thank yous, or he won't give you the negs and he's gonna charge you an arm and a leg for a photo to hang above your mantle, then it's really not a good price.

but for JUSt proofs and albums, I think you can probably do better than $2600, or get something similaryl priced for someone with really excellent work ...(I'm not saying your guy doens't do excellent work..I don't know)

Also ask for samples of the albums the photographer would provide and the size of the photos. I almost forgot to ask about this (luckily FH remembered), but it is important.

If you really like this photographer, see if you can negotiate for some extras--more loose photos, engagement shots, etc.

Good luck! I just finished hiring my vendors also (wedding 7/16/05), you'll get it done!

Ok well thanks for all the help...I will call him tonight and find out if he can throw a few extras in and also about negatives and proofs. I'm sure with all of that it will be worth it.

If you post or search for the photographer, other bride's who have used them would be able to share their proofs and experiences. I think this is better then them showing you books because those are hand picked pictures.
