Is This a Good Quote?

I haven't gotten any other quotes, and I was wondering if $6500 for a band on a Friday night-is a good quote? Also does anyone know the average cost of DJ's?

I used JFTR DJ and they were about 2500 for everything. Depends on band which band r u using. Im not partial to bands though. never liked never will

$6500 seems like the norm.

As for DJs, they're MUCH less expensive. We're paying $1500 for our dj/emcee combination.

My DJ... Vinny from High Voltage is $800 for ceremony, cocktail hour and whole reception.

Bands do cost that much. I am paying the same for my band..I am sure if you look around you may find one a little cheaper..But if you love the band,,it would be worth it..

I dont think bands charge based on what day you get married..so the price will most likely be the same if it was a Saturday/night or Sunday/night wedding.....

Yup, we're paying around that for a Sat night wedding, including cocktail hour....

Thats just about what we are paying as well on a SUnday. I dont htink the day of the week matters.

We are having our band eat at the cocktail hour instead of paying for thier dinner which is what they suggested bc they couldnt work with us on the price...

That's sounds fair, that's what we are paying. You confused me with the DJ question though, they are much cheaper, but completely different. I would decide what you really want first, before you try to compare prices....

Thanks for all the answers....My FH wanted to know about the average price of the DJ-I told him it would be cheaper but he didn't believe me......Is Nightflight really good and can I look them up online? Do they have showcases?

i guess it is a matter of opinion.....i think you pay for what you get

i will keep my opinion to myself but definately hear many before you book
it is amazing how bad some bands are
there are some great dj's also...it all depends what you like

I don't know about bands,
but we used HIgh Voltage sounds and had a DJ for $650 and he played the ceremony and reception
that is a REALLY GOOD price....most average @$1k.
We were on a tight budget...so this worked perfectly for us.

I'm paying only about $4K for my band and I think they are very talented - Jon Bates Band. It's a 7 piece band.

I had Niteflight and they were amazing. They are a 9pc band and they play showcases. They are a vendor on these boards. Their website is www.niteflightproductions.com. One of the girls on these boards just booked them as well. I've heard other bands at weddings and although some of them are very good, I'm still happy I picked them. It's all about your preference. I do know they are one of the most reasonably priced bands out there. They book independent of an agent so they don't pay a middleman. Go see them for yourself.
