Is this a good quote?

I contacted someone about make up for myself and brideal party (3 bridesmaids).

The woman qouted me for hand brushed makeup (non airbrushing)

$35 trial
$80 bride including eye lashes and covering a larger tattoo on my back
$50 each bridesmaid.

Is this a good price or should i negotaite?

I think so! My makeup artist is charging me almost twice that amount $150 for bridal and $75 for bridesmaids, mothers, etc.

Yeah, that actually seems a little low to me!! I think the cheapest quote I got was 85 just for a trial.

I looked up people on craigslist in all honesty and contacted the few i saw that do ethnic brides.

I honestly need someone who isnt going to have to buy all new makeup to fit me and my bridemaids complexions.

This is a great price. I would have tocontact her and see if she has done/is comfortable with African American skin.

I think it's a good quote and it's not the lowest I've seen. There are other reputable MUA with similar pricing so I wouldn't be worried that it's too cheap therefore not good quality. People can cut their costs when working independently and offer better rates than some salons.

It is a low price but make sure you do your research on the MUA...a friend of mine made the mistake of randomly choosing someone from craigslist for hair and makeup without checking them out...lets just say the bridal party had to chip in and help the day of...best of luck

Yes I plan to do a trial first and ask for 2-3 different looks. As I may want to change from a soft look for the cermony to a more smoky when I change to my 2nd dress. Plus need make to match my African dress.
