How much did you have to put down as a deposit for your photgrapher? I really liked silverfox, but they want 1/3 as a deposit which would be over $2,000. That seems like an awful lot of money to me, and I am hesitating about going with them because of this. The hall didn't want nearly that much and thats going to be A LOT more money. Opinions or feedback anyone?

i think that's what our photo vendor wanted also and same thoughts exactly! so we told the rep there's no way we can meet the price so quickly so it ended up becoming approx $500. it's just an unreasonable deposit to ask for.

Wow, that is a lot to have to put down. Most photographers I saw asked for $500 down.

My photographer/videographer wanted about 1400 but I told him I wasn't prepared to leave that kind of deposit and left $600 so far

Yes that was video too... it is a less to worry about later, but a lot to worry about now

It is a lot of money, but it's normal. It's all based on their contracts. My DJ wanted 1/3 dep, 1/3 by January and 1/3 day of; same for video. My photographer wanted 25% deposit, 50% day of and 25% after...It all depends on the vendor.
