this may be a stupid question... but do you think its important to get your ring appraised and insured?
some of my friends are married for several yrs now and havent done it... yet my sister thinks its horrible that ive havent done it ?
ive asked a couple of people and mixed feelings about it.. is it a personal choice or a must do?

We actually did it through State Farm. FH did it like a week after I got it because he kept getting anxiety over me losing it or stones falling out, haha. Anyway, the price per year is like so inexpensive. They had us bring appraisal papers and the receipt, but only insured it for the value it was sold to us for.

OHMIGOD!! This is honestly the most important thing that you should do!!! It was the first thing we did!!! By all means, insure the ring!!! HTH

Honestly it really is a personal choice, BUT to me it was a MUST.

I know FH paid a LOT of money for my ring, and god forbid I ever lose it or it breaks, we have to have a way to get it back. Insurance is the only thing that does it for us. The couple hundred I spend each year to insure it will certainly be worth it's weight if I ever have to replace it.

FH had it appraised before he even proposed and gave me all of the paperwork after he proposed.
