In Texas:
To actually be BF/GF with someone, you were 'Going with him/her'
If you fooled around with someone at a party (heavy necking and petting) you 'mugged down with him' or 'caught a mug'
I never said hooked up til I moved here and it usually meant one-night stand.

'went with' was definitely a howard beach, ozone park, middle village,bayside and bensonhurst thing! (I am a former Queens girl of 22 years!) Oh those great days of cruising down franny lew! My hair, like a skyscraper and my eyeliner style can only be described as...'raccoon'!

I am from LI and we always said hooking up for kissing but apparently some people especially my 'went with' friends thought that meant having sex.
