Ok... so I wanted to do something special for FH as a surprise at some point on our wedding day. My sister had hired a bagpipe player for outside of the church before and after the ceremony and I thought this would also be a cute idea. Yesterday we were taking a long drive and FH and I were listening to music from his computer... we both are big big music lovers, both sing, he plays guitar etc etc.
Long story short, we were listening to all of these acapella groups and I thought, 'How fun would it be if I hired a group to come perform 3-4 songs at the reception?' Not sure if a college group could do something like this for a cheaper price, but my question is....
Is this a ridiculous idea? Or could it potentially be pretty cool? Any ideas/thoughts and opinions are always welcome. Thanks :)

I think it's great! My mom had bag pipers at her wedding to my step father and we are thinking of having a Mariachi during dinner.

I think its great. I had toyed with the idea of an A Capella group or like a barber shop quartet, since me and FH both love music like that, its really unique and not overdone so I say go for it!

I think it's a great idea. How many people can say they went to a wedding where there was an Acapella group performing, not many. I'm sure everyone will rave how unique of an idea it is. I know I would.
I'm trying to think of something to do as well. Every wedding has that one unique thing that stands out and that's what i'm trying to think of what to do for it. I have an idea but still tossing it around.

My alma mater Cornell has an excellent Acapella group, but that is upstate. I think that is unique and reflects your tastes, and I think everyone would appreciate the novelty.. Go for it!
I think that sounds awesome! Even though they're not a college group.. Northport High School (where I went) has acapella groups and the guys are always amazing! Definitely check it out!
