Most of our guests are from OOT. We're talking everywhere from Boston to SC to Miami to LA to San Fran. to Mexico to Bermuda to Brussels..... and everywhere inbetween. Seriously. It's nuts. I'm putting stamps on invites and realizing how crazy it is....

So I was thinking about getting a vintage looking map of the US, framing it in an elaborate gold frame (think ornate picture frame that you'd see in a museum), and leaving push pins for our guests to show where they're from. With a little saying next to it (so they'll know what to do)..

Is this stupid? I just think it's so special that people are from everywhere and coming from near and far to be with us on our wedding day.... And I'd love to have it as a keepsake to hang in our house one day....to remind us of how special our friends and families are.

That is a great idea!!!!!!! It'll be a wonderful keepsake after your wedding to share all the countries and cultures from which your guests came.

I think that's a GREAT idea.

I don't know what sort of pushpins you were thinking of using, but I suggest using gold or silver pins that tailors use to hold clothing together...they'll look more elegant with the vintage map and the frame.

Also, Michaels is having a big sale on frames and framing this week (60% off framing).

I absolutley LOVE this idea - how creative!!

May I suggest, however, you use map pins instead of push pins - that way after the wedding you can frame it behind glass as a keepsake.

You mean like a guestbook targeted solely to your OOT friends? Sounds like a fun idea, but only if they participate. I suggest you have someone ask man the frame and specifically target them to fill it out.
