is this a totally bad idea?

is this a totally bad idea?

My mom is walking me down the aisle. My parents got divorced when I was 4 and she's the only parent i've ever know. She has never really been into wearing dresses/skirts.

Do you think it would look weird if she wore a tux? I think it might be cute since she's walking me down the aisle and all. Any thoughts?

weird that your mom is walking you down the aisle? no

wearing a tux? yes

maybe she could get a really pretty pant suit or something instead!

ETA: I didn't mean that her wearing pants was a bad idea... there are so many beautiful pant suits for women. I just think that an actual tux would be too masculine for a mother of the bride.

My mother does not wear dresses or skirts either..I am totally fine with her wearing a pants outfit

She showed me some they are not tuxs more of slacks with a fancy shirt and jacket type thing

I think a dressy pantsuit is fine but IMO I wouldn't have her wear a tux.

I think a pant suit would be fine. Would she want to wear a tux?

to me, i think wearing a tux would symbolize that a 'masculine figure' is the one that should be walking you down the aisle. be proud that a woman raised you! :)

i don't know. i think if it's what your mom wants, then i'm sure she could get a tuxedo of some sort...maybe something more fitted. if that's what she would be comfortable in, then why not?

my moms walking me down the aisle too :)
tux thing might be a little weird, but thats just me. If you think it would work for you and your family, then its not weird!

she should definitely wear a feminine, classy and elegant pantsuit. Definitely not a tux. I think it's great that she's walking you down the aisle!

i would say whatever she is comfortable in. i think it was nordstroms site they had a mother of the bride pants outfit that was very nice, very formal but still feminine. if she would feel more comfortable in something like that i say go for it.

think a tux might be a little weird.... i agree with the other girls. A pants suit... i'm sure you can find something for mom that she likes

I agree with the other ladies! A pants suit would look really nice. I like the idea of your mom walking you down the aisle.

I think a pretty feminine pantsuit would look a lot nicer than your mom in a tux. JMO

I dont think its weird at all she's walking you down the aisle.

I think the tux idea is a little weird. Nothing wrong with a nice pantsuit though!

I would suggest a very nice, somewhat classic, sassy pants suit for your mom....not a tux though. jmo

thanks girls.. just what i needed to hear. it was actually my mom's idea to wear a tux. she's actually got the style to make it work i guess. think ellen without the lesbo-ism. i'm going to try to steer her in the direction of a nice pants suit.
