Is this an appropriate first dance song?

Is this an appropriate first dance song?

FH and I love Oasis and want our first dance to be to their song 'Wonderwall'. We've gotten some looks over that. It's something that we want and will dance to it anyway, but I'm wondering if we are really that far out there with our song pick.

It is a beautiful song and it is your wedding, so I say DO WHATEVER YOU WANT!! The song has to be meaningful to you, even if no one else understands it....but it could also be an option to have it as your second dance, if you feel uncomfortable!

You are probably getting looks b/c its not that slow and romantic sound, but I definitely think its appropriate and if that is the song you want then do it!

It definitely isn't the typical wedding song. I just have to keep reminding myself this is about us and no one else. Thanks for backing me up.

I think it is. You should go with what you want and not with what is standard or typical

Who cares if it is appropriate... Do you guys like it?? Then use it.

I really like that song... who cares what other people think. If it means something special to you two, then go ahead.
If not, maybe play it as song #2?

dude, your wedding is in 2010 you have plenty of time to learn how to NOT TELL ANYONE ANYTHING!!!! the opinions will kill you. Use the following:

'We're not sure yet, we got time'
'Good idea, I will remember that'
'You're right' (think, 'yeah right')
'We thought about it, but nothing special has gotten our attention yet.'
'interesting idea'
'maybe'
'me and fh have to talk more about that'

this will work for everything- music, flowers, dj, dress, colors....

tell no one a thing. they'll see what u planned at your wedding day and by then all they can say is 'how beautiful- we had a wonderful time!'

if i can throw Honky Tonk Badonkadonk in as part of our first dance you should be fine with yours! Who cares what people think...it's YOUR first dance...and the song you will always remember!!

We did a fun non-traditional first dance..mixing beginnings of 3 songs...starting with My Wish by Rascal Flatts, then Something Stupid by Robbie Williams...and ended with Honky Tonk Badonkadonk by Trace Atkins...for those wondering how it fit in

I think that is a really cool first dance song. I like when couples go for something that's not the standard first dance song - there's only so many weddings you can go to where the couple dances to Don't Wanna Miss A Thing.

In order to avoid people giving you negative comments, I suggest not revealing details to people. Like another poster said, just say you're not sure yet, haven't decided, etc. People will eventually back off and stop asking.

No one else has to dance to it but you guys... If they don't like it, too bad!!! It's YOUR day!!

Love those lines. Will definitely have to remember them. We're not a very conventional couple and have gotten a lot of flack for our decisions so far.....no bridal party, going with a non-traditional wedding photographer, going low key rather than a catering hall like my brothers. From now on I'll just keep my mouth shut. You are all right, my wedding, my money my ideas.

And will definitely have to look up that acoustic version to see if we like it. Thanks!

its YOUR wedding....nobody elses....if you wanna have your first dance to the 'hokey pokey' no one else should have anything to say about it!

f them! the only opinions that matter are yours & your fiance's!!!!
