Is this appropriate (ie parent gifts)

I was just running through some numbers, and I was thinking we'd spend more on my mom/step-dad and dad/step-mom since they're footing the bill for the majority of the wedding.

FMIL and FFIL (who are divorced) are giving us some money toward it, but not even half of what my parents are giving us.

I was going to spend about $100 on each of my parents, and then $50 on each of FH's parents.... is this appropriate?

we're having the same thoughts...my parents are paying for everything...FIL paying for nothing...haven't even offered. FH step mom and hsi father gave us engagement gift...FH mom didn't even give us a card...yet if we give the gifts at the rheasral dinner, it will be obvious about the price difference...when you get an anser, please send it to me! thanks!!!

What kind of gifts were you thinking of giving?

I'm really not sure about the type... I wanted to get gift certificates to a restaurant, but FMIL doesn't have an SO, so I wasn't sure if that would be appropriate...

I think it would be appropriate, as long as they're not the type of people that would talk it over with eachother.

hmm... i don't think they would... See, thing is, my mom is the type that would get angry if i spent the same on everyone, even though she spent more...
