My FMIL was talking to me about dresses and said she was thinking of getting a rose color. Well, I may do that for my girls, so I told her I wasn't sure. Then she suggested beige and I said no cause it could be too close to white. But then I was talking to my aunt (my cousin is also getting married) and she said no one is telling her what color to wear. Am I crossing the line? I thought the bride has some say in what the moms wear, no?

No I think you have every right to tell her what colors you dont want her wearing! She should know not to wear anything even remotely close to white...
As for her matchin the color of the BM gown, I wouldnt tell her she couldnt wear that color... I see it as just a coincidence and leave it as that!

Re: Is this Bridezilla-ish?
I told mom and FMIL they couldnt wear royal blue (my BMs color) or white
after FMIL got a brown dress my mom couldn't get that color ( she got a hunter green)
i would pick out the BM dress color so there is no confusion. i DON'T think it is bridezilla-ish bc if you didnt say anything what if she matched the BMs or someone else? I know my mom would feel silly.

Re: Is this Bridezilla-ish?
I could understand why you wouldn't want her wearing the same color as the BM's but I think beige would be ok. You two might have two different colors in mind (like what you consider beige and what she considers beige)

I told my mother she can wear pink or brown, she wants to match the bm's. I'm going to tell my FMIL the same thing if she ever asks about the wedding which she has yet to do.

Yeah I thought that most people thought the same way. But apparantly my aunt and FMIL thought it was out of line? Oh well, different strokes for different folks!

I completely agree about the beige color...but I am not so sure about the other one that BM's are wearing

Re: Is this Bridezilla-ish?
If it is a beige/cream color, then no way. If its a champaigne/beige, then that may be ok.
I have the same rule: no beigy ivory and not the same as the BMs, but I would like the Moms to wear something in the same color family as the BM.
I dont think you are being a bridezilla at all. I am so tire of people calling brides a bridezilla just b/c she has an opinion on how something should be for her wedding. Its ridiculous!

This isn't bridezilla-ish at all. You have every right to say what color for her not to wear. She has even has to wait until your mom picks the color she will wear before FMIL can pick something.

Re: Is this Bridezilla-ish?
nope not bridezilla-ish at all.. i have evey intention of taking my fmil shopping for her dress. so that she won't try to pull out a beige or tan or white or ivory dress and wear..

At the end of the day its YOUR DAY. If you prefer them to wear a different color then the BM's and not beige it is ultimately up to you.

Re: Is this Bridezilla-ish?
I was asked what color my mom and FMIL can wear . I dont care as long as they are not wearing white or Ivory. I gave them the colors of my girls and I think they are going with the same tone. My mom even asked me when she found her dress if i thought it was too much taking away from me..LOL so cute. Heck she wore black to my brothers wedding and she looked hot. And they say you shouldnt wear black to a wedding.

Re: Is this Bridezilla-ish?
It doesn't matter to me what the moms where as long as it's not white. And I don't think I have to worry about the moms wearing the same color as the BMs because the BMs dress colors are kind of bright and the moms aren't into that. But I understand where you're coming from.

Re: Is this Bridezilla-ish?
the moms shouldnt wear white, or the color of the bridesmaids, other than that i think they should get to choose.
MOB beige is usually more of a tan, it's a very popular color and no one will think it's close to white. my mom wore that color for both of my brothers' weddings and everyone loved it and no one mistook her for the bride.
i don't think you're being a bridezilla... but i do think you should give your mom a little leeway...
