Our hotel block at the Marriott, will not include breakfast. It is $13 a person. With all of our OOT guests, we would be paying close to $1000 ... Way out of budget. Would it be cheesy to say when booking ...would you like to join the bride and groom for breakfast and then tell them the price to add on ?

I think either you pay for it or let them take care of themselves. It is a bit cheesy to add it to your guests bill. Sorry Just my honest opinion

honeslty I think so. IMO if you are going to make it a sit down b-fast with the bride and groom it should be taken care of.
if it were just like a continental type of breakfast where people come and go as they please it would not be necessary... then again most of them are free

I I were you, I would cover the bridal party and close close family and that's it, everyone else can be informed when booking that if they want breakfast it is $13pp when booking. You don't need to feed all of your OOT guests.

from what I understand ppl can come and go ... But its not continental its a buffett with eggs and everything. I just feel like 13 bucks is a lot for breakfast! They won't budge on the price either.

I think what we will be doing is just putting a note in all the OOT baskets saying that the newlyweds will be having breakfast from x-x time at x place if you want to stop by and say hey.
That way people can still see us but we don't have to pay for them haha

yeah, it's cheesy (sorry)
maybe you can get a conference room at the hotel and provide your own buffet style or continental breakfast for everyone? that might fit into your budget

we have the same hotel with the same issue. i have been to weddings before and stayed over and the breakfast was not included, so i am used to it and didnt mind paying for breakfast. i think it will be fine.

i think its very tacky. if you are hosting something.. it means u have to pay.
its like being invited to a BYOB party (bring your own booze(beer).. its cute when youre 15... not when youre an adult lol

I would either pay for all or not bring it up.

Re: is this cheesy
I wouldn't do it.
A nice compromise would be to see if the hotel can set up something in a conference room for all of your guests. It might work out to be less money.
If not, then I just wouldn't bring it up.

cheesy no, a bit tacky, yes. you can't invite ppl to something like that if you're not going to pay for it. if you want to do something like that then do what ilana is doing or just spread the word that people can come eat if they want to see you but it's not a hosted event
