It's a known fact that FH is OBSESSED with ketchup. He puts it on everything including steak and spaghetti. Our wedding will be relatively formal but we as a couple are very laid back and always up for a joke.
Do you think it would look bad to tie each seating card to a mini bottle of ketchup. Part of me think it would be cute/funny. The other part is afraid it will look trashy. What do you think?

can I just say that is the cutest bottle of ketchup I have ever seen! LOL
I think that if it's something that is well known amongst your guests and it's something that incoporates an aspect of your lives into the wedding, than I say go for it! I know if i was a guest at your wedding and I knew your FH to always use ketchup, I would love it!
Also, what are your wedding colors? Is red one of them, because that's a perfect way to incorporate the color scheme as well!

To answer a few questions...
1. No haha, the ketchup is not the favor. We'll be having a photo booth and a cigar roller (chocolate cigars for the non smokers).
2. Our colors are mostly black and white with bright yellow (my favorite color) as an accent (just my bouquet and little bits of the stationary etc.)

I LOVE IT!!!!! And so perfect that FH loves it!!! Very cute!!! I dont think it will look trashy....you can jazz it up with nice ribbon and a nice card....perfect..I would be so happy to get that!!! LOL

One of my friends is the same way with ketchup and at her graduation party, someone gave her 7 huge bottles of ketchup labeled 'monday, tuesday, wednesday etc'

That's so funny! We always buy the giant ketchup from BJs because they last longer and come in 2 packs. Heaven forbid we run out!

I think its a cute idea that ties in something personals....maybe have a note next to where you have it explaining why you did ketchup for those that may not be in on the joke.

i think it really depends on the 'theme' of your wedding ... if you're going for 'elegant', then i would not do the ketchup thing (you can save hte idea for the rehearsal dinner, or a birthday party or something) ... if your theme is 'fun', then it's perfect.
i think it's a very cute idea ... though i'm sure at least a few people will not understand the reference.

I think its a cute idea and I'm sure your FH will get a laugh out of it. As long as he is known for his ketchup love its cute. My FH love legos and EVERYONE knows that so I am trying to incorporate lego into my wedding. BTW I agree that it is hte cutest bottle of ketchup I ever saw.

I think it can be a super cute idea.. and my FH is also completely ketchup obsessed, but since I am striving to have a formal affair I wouldn't do it.

If you were having a backyard BBQ theme wedding complete with checkered table cloths, then this would be perfect. Otherwise I think it would look out of place, and yes, quite tacky if the rest of your wedding is classy or elegant. Also, I doubt all of your guests will understand it and will probably wonder why they are getting a bottle of ketchup at a wedding.
