Is this disrespectful?
I know that out of respect for our country and flag, that when the National Anthem is being played/sung, it is respectful to stand still and not speak. My wedding is 7/4/13 and I found a techno remix of the National Anthem and I wanted to know your opinion ~ would it be disrespectful to have that song played as the entrance song for the bridal party? Obviously the MC will be announcing them and people will be entering/dancing. Is this acceptable or not? Honest opinions please as I don't want to disrespect the country I feel so lucky to be able to live in. Thanks!p.s. Also, if you know of any patriotic songs that are upbeat that could work as an entrance song to get the party started?

I don't think it's disrespectful at all. And just to double check I asked my brother who is a veteran of both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and he didn't think it was either.

I think it's a really cute and creative idea!! And it's not like you're burning the flag, you're actually honoring the holiday in a unique way!If you're still not sure, if there's anyone you're inviting to your wedding who you think might consider this offensive, ask them the question in a hypothetical way. Then you'll know how your guests will react.

I agree! Personally I don't think it is offensive at all, I think it is a cool idea! But for a piece of mind you should definitely ask a family member or a friend, and someone who you think might be most likely to be offended easily by things, or ask someone who is a veteran because he or she will have very high respect for this country and will probably be honest with you about it. That is the best way to judge your crowd I think.

For some reason I'm not a fan and I can't explain why. I love the idea but I think I'd like it better if it were something similar (like God Bless the USA) but just not the National Anthem. I'm a little weird like that though, maybe it's just me. I totally see the fun in the idea though!
