I wanted to add stuff to our cocktail hour because when compared with other catering halls we visited it didn't seem like we were getting too much. I have added 2 stations. If you were a guest at my wedding, would you think that this cocktail hour is sufficient?? Please be honest!
- 10 butler style hors d'oeuvres (passed during the cocktail hour) - Seasonal Fruit, Imported Cheese and Vegetable Station - Pasta Station with Assorted Bread (includes 2 different pastas) - Antipasto and Mediterrian Dishes Station - Carving Station (2 meats - Sirloin and Turkey) [we added this station] - Raw Bar (shrimp, oysters, clams) [we added this station]

sounds like a sufficient amount to me! ppl are really going to like that u added on the raw bar, from the weddings i've gone too, it's always been a hit!

Yes! It's OFC. The carving station was an extra $5pp and the raw bar was $12pp. However, what we ended up doing was we got rid of the appetizer (during dinner) so that we can add the carving station at no extra charge. Therefore, the only extra station we needed to pay for was the raw bar. I was okay with getting rid of the appetizer during dinner because IMO I would rather have 3 courses (salad, entree, dessert) than 4 because it allows more time for dancing during the reception.

Look at it this way.... the CH is the
APPETIZER!!!!!
When you and FH go out to dinner, do you eat more than that before your main course?
Trust me, its enough. Weddings have WAY too much food as it is, there is no need to stuff your face at the CH before the full 3-4 course dinner an hour later.
Of course the food is awesome and I eat it all but no, your fine.

How many people do you plan on having. That should determine if it's enough food.
We are planning on having about 120-130 guests.

IMO I think you are getting enough food. Adding ont he raw bar is great.. I wish I could afford it. for my RH. And teh appetizer substitute is great.

mine has maybe 8 passed, 10 stations, the cheese and cold stuff area with about 10 things
That's true - there's always people who get passed by on the passed ones.

OMG Tia ~ I'm having the same problem with the CH @ OFC! Matt keeps telling me that adding the raw bar is too much so we left it as basic now. I feel like it's not enough but then again there passed apps & main dinner is SOOO delish. I can't wait to hear what you guys think after your wedding. We are getting married there in Sept.

Ali- ITA with you with the CH is an appitizer. You guys are problably going think OMG what is she doing but we are ONLY having unlimited passed hor'dorves during the CH we are asking for 8 workers to pass the food around so everyone should be able to get enough.And our main course will be buffet with 10 choices- 2 carving sations and a cold antipasta station.
But I had always said we wanted more of a party atmosphere then an actual wedding.
