Is this gift worth the price tag?!

Is this gift worth the price tag?!

FH and I are big Billy Joel fans. Like, huge.

There's a piano in our RH and we get a sax player for CH as part of our DJ/band package.

I found out that I can hire the star of Movin Out (who is also Billy's stand-in at his concert rehearsals) to play during our CH. He is AWESOME and a dead ringer for Billy.

It's also $850 to have him play for an hour. Half of me feels like but he is a B'Way star and it would be an awesome surprise for FH and our guests.
The only thing I what if something goes wrong and we / guest buses don't get to the RH on time? If he plays from 7-8 and ppl don't get there till 7:15 or 7:30 then really what's the point?

I'm torn, would love to hear what you ladies think!

I think it's a great idea but NOT during the CH. Like you said people straggle in, the seating might not be great, it's noisy.

I would have him sing while people are seated at dinner. My sister did this with a sinatra singer and it was great. Some guests tipped the singer. LOL

If you can afford it, then why not! I think it would be an awesome add.

like someone else said, i would add it if i had the money, but not during the CH. is there a way to negotiate the price if you just want him to sing like one or two songs during dinner?

My sister's sinatra singer did about half an hour I think. He started out with slow songs and then as people finsihed dinner, they started to dance.

That's exactly what I wanted, slow songs at the beginning of CH then faster to get every1 pumped as they opened the ballroom for the reception 2 start
