My parents got a Save the Date a few weeks ago for next summer that is asking for the guests to send a deposit if they will attend. I think its at al AI but i have never heard of this... I thought guests just pay their own way..

never saw that before- usually they give you a travel agent name to assist you and you can book through there or you can book on your own

I always thought that they paid there own way and made arrangements for themselves, not through the bride and groom.

They can send a deposit just to hold there room. I am going to a destination wedding and ask for a deposit to hold our room. It is common? They probably have a really good rate.

I agree.... Thats what we have to do for FH cousins wedding for next May... No STD's yet, she just told us about it though.

that was the last destination wedding std we got had the travel agents info to call and book it your self
we couldnt go, but everyone else had a great time

This actually happened to us. Fh's BM is getting married on a cruise next year. They are asking everyone to give a deposit, so they can get the best deal for everyone. But, you need to send deposit now and the cruise will be sometime between April-June of next year. we want to go..but don't know what our situation will be next year.

This was the same as the last destination wedding I went to...they sent us the info and everyone booked by themselves.
