Hi everyone,
I'm really unhappy with my florist for many reasons, but the latest issue is this. I'm taking the train out to Long Island JUST to have my sample appointment (I don't live in LI, but my wedding will be there), and I was shocked when the guy handling my wedding told me he will only make me a sample of one thing. Not my bouquet and a centerpiece, or even the two centerpieces I was deciding between. LITERALLY JUST ONE centerpiece, no bouquet sample or anything else.

I find this pretty cheap. Is this normal? I can't believe they only show you one thing. Please share experiences!

generally florists do not make bok samples. But if you have more than one centerpiece they make both I thought. If you are unhappy with your florist, check out Hidden Essence, Michelle was wonderful and made changes with things if I was not happy.

I didn't go to many florists, but all the ones I went to said typically no bouquet samples, but they should show you a sample of however many different types of centerpieces you ordered.

Thanks! I already put down a deposit, so not sure if I can change at this point :( They seemed great at first so I just put down the deposit, but since then it's been a really unpleasant experience. 3 weeks to answer emails, changing prices from what HE wrote on the original contract, etc. Ridiculous.

My florist made a sample of my bok and my two centerpieces but i dont know if this is normail....

Im booked with Hidden Essence and they are great! I got many ideas for my BoK but she only did a CP sample for me. I actually never heard of someone getting a BoK sample. If you are unhappy it might be better to book with a different florist and maybe risk losing your deposit. You dont want this aggravation before the wedding.

Same here. Michelle is fantastic!!! I'm super indecisive and she's very understanding and supportive. But she did say no sample BoK which I'm fine with. Good luck!

I haven't heard of florists making sample bouquets.

I've never heard of bouquet samples. I have only one centerpiece (all high), therefore a florist usually make one sample and changes it to your liking. If you decided on 2 different types of centerpieces (ie high and low), they should show you one sample of each.

Did you book two different types of centerpieces or just one?

I tell this to every bride I meet.....GO THE DAY BEFORE THE WEDDING TO SEE YOUR EXAMPLES!!! I went with my sister in law for her wedding the night before to make sure the flowers were in order for her wedding the next day and they made the sample of the bridesmaids bouquet wrong! Thank God we went because that is enough to make a bride breakdown on her wedding day!

This is great advise. Mine is a local florist so it won't be out of the way. One less thing to worry about the day of.

Florists don't usually make a sample of everything. Mine just did 3 samples of possible centerpieces but they said they don't do samples of the brides or bridesmaids flwoers because the amount of money it will take to make each sample. So its not unusual that they said no to this

My florist is going to do a sample bouquet and a sample centerpiece at right about the 1 year out mark, bc the same flowers will be in season. That way, if I decide against it, we can change it then. She also said I'm welcome to come the day before my wedding to see the centerpieces, bouquets, bouts, etc. if you want her info, FM me.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this.
