Is this 'old fashioned'

To wear my mom's pearl necklace on my wedding day as my 'somthing old'? Also, any idea of a good website to get nice pearl earrings?

I'm wearing my grandmother's pearls as my something old. I love that idea.

For the earrings, it depends on how much you want to spend. My BMs bought me a pearl necklace and earrings for my birthday from things remembered. I can't imagine it was too expensive.

I think that is a really nice gesture and no it's not old fashioned - Pearls are a timeless classic!!!

Yeah, she's definitely the sappy type. They are beautiful too, my dad got them for her like 30 years ago. She wore them on her wedding day. Her marriage ended in divorce though so hope that's not a bad omen

I was contemplating wearing my grandmother's pearls since she passed away a few years ago.

It's not old fashioned at all..I think it is a wonderful idea.
As for a website...Ross-simons.com you can sort the jewelry by gem type. I know 'Bluesashbride' used them and she has pics on her Bride Review.
