I just went to my first florist....and the quote I got was $3400 w/tax for :
My BOQ = black magic roses, dahlias and stock? purple spikey things... 2 MOH boq (black magic roses and purple stock for all) 2 BM boq
6 of boutenierre (sp?) 2 corsages for moms
13 high centerpieces with black magic roses, hydrangeas and snapdragons $165 each..
2 altar baskets
Petals for FG, petals for place card table, cake flowers and flower offering for the Virgen Mary..
Is this a good price? I thought I would be able to get this for 2k? Is that being unreasonble?
I appreciate any honest feed back...I want to be realistic in terms of what I could get with 2k...
I def. want high centerpieces...i just didn't know they were that much!

I don't know why they would charge you so much. Maybe the black magic roses and the snapdragon flowers. Ask them why it is so high and see if their answer is acceptable. My centerpieces are huge with candles and hydrageas and they're only $125 each. I attached an example of how my centerpiece will generally look. I'm using John from Flower Michelle and I am getting A LOT and he worked within my budget of $3K. Keep searching and good luck!
I think the price for the cp's is high. Maybe because of the black magic roses? I don't know...I would shop around.

Re: Is this quote too much for flowers?
I am paying closer to 3g for 12 high centerpieces, my bq, 3 bms, 5 bouts, 3 corsages, chuppah flowers around the gazebo, bathroom arrangements, flowers for the cocktail room, and a large arrangement for the placecard table.

Re: Is this quote too much for flowers?
Thank you girls! I thought it was a bit high.....but flowers, especially the CP are improtant for me...my guests will be staring at them for 5 hours! So i was getting scared that if I went to a less expensive place i would get sub-quality work...but now I know they were just overcharging....
Does anyone have an opinion on Burtons? For their high centerpieces? Are they full, good looking? etc...
TIA!

Re: Is this quote too much for flowers?
That is definalty high. I am having high centerpieces with roses and hydranga and peonies and I was quoted $95.00 and I am having anywhere from 20 to 25 tables.
I went to Burtons for a quote and it was $2700 plus + tax for the centerpieces and personal and the church. I am going to see some samples this Saturday and leave a deposit.
You should check him out.
