i really dont know if its considered tacky or not...but what i do think is tacky is that your friend made a comment like that. it was rude and unnecessary!

its not tacky at all, considering its an insert and not like it was prominently displayed as your save the date.

tell your friend she's obviously not well versed in the ways of weddings.
its absolutely normal to include the hotel price in the wedding insert---that way if you are getting a discount--your guests know to make sure they are getting the correct price! also - it lets them know ahead of time what to expect price wise.
exactly my thought. i was grateful when my OOT friend sent hotel inserts w/ the price listed. i def wouldn't consider it tacky.

Thanks all!
Your posts made me feel a lot better! Yup, I thought it was ok to put the prices because we blocked 5 different hotels in different price ranges...

Re: Is this really tacky?
It is not tacky at all. Instead of sending out STDs, I sent an e-mail with the link to our wedding website and included in that site are the rates for the hotel block.
I think your guests need to know how much the room will cost so they can make a decision on whether they can afford it or look elsewhere.

Re: Is this really tacky?
I just sent my STD's this weekend as well. I included an insert that I typed up, suggesting 2 hotels, and listed the prices for both. Its totally not tacky.

I dont think its tacky, i think it's important information. We included it and I've always seen it included. Maybe we are tacky
I agree....this is cutting out the middle man and it allows to better plan for the wedding....I think it's fine and if not then we'll start a tacky, but informed club

Re: Is this really tacky?
Is the hotel expensive? We just received a STD from a friend yesterday and they listed the price as well and the first thing I said 'Damn special rate $259? thats a little pricing no!!' Sounds like she might have just been referring to the price of the room, not that you had listed it on the STD.
*and if she was referring to the fact that you listed the price- I think she's wrong and its not tacky at all.

Re: Is this really tacky?
Thanks again ladies!
The hotels were pretty $$, the most expensive was $215, and they went down to $99. I blocked 5 hotels because there are lots of things going on during the wedding weekend. (homecomings, other weddings.)...
