One of my BM's just told me that she is going to have a baby! She is due 4 days after my wedding so she 'stepped out' Is it rude to replace her? I have another friend in mind, that I was thinking about asking anyway, but now I don't want her think that I am just asking her to replace the BM that is pregant?

I would ask her, and I am sure she would gladly accept.

Re: Is this Rude?
I have heard of people doing this before. Did she already know when the others were asked and that she is a second choice?

I didn't even know her when the others were asked. I met her over the summer she is the wife of a guy that my FH works with, we have become really really close since then, she is coming to work out with me 4 times a week, now, etc. We have just become very good friends in a short time.

Re: Is this Rude?
Not at all!
My friend was originally going to have her wedding the same day as another friend of mine, for whom I was MoH. After she changed her date, she asked me to sing at the wedding. And then her DH added a GM and she asked me if I'd be a singing BM! I was honored.
Stuff happens. But congrats on your friend who's pregnant!

In that case, go for it!!!!
I am just not a big fan of asking someone else, knowing they are a replacemet. Of course it's an honor, but why wasn't I not asked in the beginning to begin with. JMO

I agree with Jenny... but this is an exception because you did not know her when you planned your wedding party. I say go for it!

Re: Is this Rude?
no, especially since you didn't know her then, its not rude. tell her that you feel like you've known her forever & if you had known her a year ago 9 whenever it was ) you defintely would have thought of her right away, but now that she is pregnant, you wouldn't think of replacing her with any one else.
My dad's friend (who introduced him to my mom) was drafted, so he had a coworker fill in. As long as its not a sister or someone close who may feel like second string, its fine.

I would be honest with her. I don't think it's rude at all.
