Is it rude to send an invite to someone on your ' B' list just as the due date for the response cards is coming up (in about 3 days after you mail the invite?)

yep, me too. If you really wanna invite this person now you could always lie a bit and call the up and say you haven't received their rsvp yet and then just say it must have gotten lost or something like that.

they will know they are 'b-listed' and thats a hurtful feeling... If I got an invite and knew I was on the B list, I wouldn't go, and I would be offended.
but maybe, don't include the RSVP or something like that, so they don't know ...

I would probably do the same thing so as to not be rude.

Yeah, they'll definitely know they were on the B-list ! I'd lie....we have one couple we didn't have room to invite so I told FH if last minute we have the room I'm telling them 'we haven't heard from you' & pretending we sent them one. I hate to lie but they're very unreliable & known to not show up to things so I didn't want to invite them over someone else when we're on such a tight list.

Do that screams -- You were on the B list. That could really hurt someone's feelings.

Re: Is this rude?
We're going to send the invite without the RSVP cards we originally had printed and instead use a new one with a later date.

Re: Is this rude?
i would just be real with them, and say
'I really wanted to invite you, but the list was out of control, and I feel terrible telling you that you were on the 'B' list, but I want to be honest with you. I want you there, and I'm sorry that this invite is late, I hope you can accept it and come celebrate with us.'
i think if you address the issue head on, it's not being rude. i invited ppl the last week before my wedding, but i kept it honest and said 'i have the extra room, and now i can invite you!' the difference was that i invited ppl who are fellow brides and totally understood. not everyone would get it like they did
ETA: oh and if you don't wanna go that route--i would go the lying route. blame the post office!

Re: Is this rude?
My first thought would be to be totally honest about it because come on everyone knows that most brides have a B list. On the otherhand if you know that it's someone that would be really offended by this just spare yourself the drama and go out to Michael's or AC Moores and get yourself a pack of response cards. You'll spend all of $10 and you won't have to worry about hurting someone feelings.

Re: Is this rude?
Normally I would say to go the truthful route, but in this case I would definitely lie!!! I would be so hurt if someone told me in five words or less that I was on their B-list!! JMHO!
