Is this rude? I invited a friend from work and she
keeps on telling me that she has my wedding gift but she forgot to bring it (she lives 3 blocks from our office). Meanwhile she asked for my address a while ago, so why has she not mailed it already?? Isn't it rude to tell me everyday that she has my gift and then not to give it to me?

Yes, but I like her, I just don't get it if you have it just send it already instead of telling me everyday.

Next time she says something about it I would say 'why don't you send yourself an email to your home account to remind yourself to bring it in, that's what I do'. (and it's true, I really do that)

I have a person who did exactly that and I NEVER got it. On 2 occasions he said, 'Oh! I have your gift!' Mind you, he and his GF were at my wedding. When I got back from the HM, he goes, 'I feel so bad I keep forgetting your gift.' Never got squat.

If it's really bothering you, I would send her an email and say something gentley like: 'It's okay if you couldn't give me a gift. I'm just glad you were able to attend my wedding.'

I like your idea...it's a nice way to say it and sounds like it might make your friend remember too

tell her you wouldn't mind dropping by her house after work to pick it up since she keeps forgetting it.

i would have to say indeed rude.
no excuse to not either bring it to work or carefully mail it. i don't know what I'd do if this were me, but i sure would be pissed about it.

Very rude. Its obviously always on her mind, so it must be bothering her.

That is indeed RUDE! And it's highly likely that she does not have a gift for you.

yes, this is rude.
My boss still never gave me the gift that she said she bought off my registry...(which didn't disappear from my registry until I purchased it myself)

Yes it is rude!!!!
I have a friend who lives a few hours away and she and I email occasionally. The other day she said 'I feel like a dork because I have your wedding gift here on my desk but I am too lazy to go and get a stamp!'
