Is THIS supposed to be the biggest decision?

I have been having such a hard time with picking colors let alone a theme for my wedding.... I find something I like and then I doubt myself for some reason...I have got to be the most indecisive bride to be on this site!! Fh's cousin told me to wait til I go bm dress shopping to pick out the colors.... what did you guys do? How did you pick the colors you are having??

i was in a wedding last june the bride let the bridesmaids pick the dress and that determined her colors. that was different. it worked out well though for her.

i guess I kind of knew what I wanted color-wise and the rest just kind of fit together. With a spring wedding, though, you could do any kind of color combo and it would be beautiful. Have you picked a place yet? What is the decor like? Is it casual or formal?

ETA: I wasn't paying attention - you DID pick a place! I've never been there, though - what's the color scheme like?

Originally I was going to light blue and periwinkle and white but then my MOH announced that she was getting married this summer too and was going to uae those colors. (we have super similar tastes lol its so scary because we won't talk for awhile then show ideas and have the SAME stuff lmao. She didnt buy a dress she loved because it looked like mine-her issue, not mine. Even offered to let her wear mine lol but we didnt have enough time in between the weddings to alter it properly.) So then I was going to do Tiffany Blue and White but decided the white was too hasrh on my own skin and went with an ivory dress. Just by chance I happened to find a pair of shoes I loved. they were red lace and satin. i decided to sue them for my wedding and then shortly after I bought a bunch of gerber dasies and loved them sooo much that bingo, there were my colors! Main colors are orange and pink and my accents are red. I am wearing heels and my nails will be red. FH is waering traditional tux but with a red vest and red doc martens.

If you're worried about the BM dresses, start searching because you may find a dress you love and decide the color it comes in is better then the one you originally were thinking about. Also look at the time of year you are getting married at to get some ideas. Brights, pales or warmer colors. What colors do you normally wear and gravitate to?

It is very hard to pick your colors and no one really knows what they like until they pick the BM dresses. At that point you will see what colors it is available in and then make your decision which could the opposite of what you thought you would like. So don't worry take your time and things will all come together.

I picked BM dresses first and then worked my way from there.

My bridesmaids always joke about how much I love food...So it was no surprise that food inspired my wine and cream color choice. Fate was sealed when me and my fiance went to WM and their colors (and monogram) match ours...

Well, there is an advertisement for it on my right panel, but its pretty much ivory and goldish -- which I was trying to consider when I make the decision..... Am I really just overthinking this??

I am not the norm but I chose my colors as soon as I got engaged (almost 2 years ago). I picked my flowers 18 months ago even before I had the BM dresses picked. Everything I chose was contingent on getting slate blue colored bride's maid dresses. Honestly I made sure that every dress that was in contention could be made in the color I wanted. Most people DO NOT do it this way. But I knew that I really wanted that color and thank God it all worked out!

Dont make yourself crazy over colors smplynluv. I have not picked out my colors nor my BM dresses. If you are the fist indecisive bride on here I am the 2nd one, lol. I cant decide for s**t. I keep on changing my colors and my themes, lol its funny but one of these days its going to hit me on what color I want

My bridesmaids picked out the style of the dress and I picked the color and determined the other colors, etc once the BMs dresses were choosen.

Re: Is THIS supposed to be the biggest decision?

I guess I just always knew I wanted some sort of pink and white as my colors- it was easy for me...

but I would check out dresses you like- see what colors they offer-see what you like best- or try to narrow down the colors you really like-and then look at dresses and see if they offer that color... don't worry, it takes time!

I was inspired by a bouquet I saw in a magazine. That pretty much determined everything. But I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think it'll come to you eventually in some way when you least expect it.

Don't stress about a theme. I'm not having a theme per se and I don't think it's necessary. How I made my decision was based on my season. I'm getting married in November, so to me, pastels and really bright colors were out. I originally wanted chocolate brown but then one of my BM's did that and I didn't want to do the same thing. I ended up going with black, which is the catch all anyway. LOL

Another way you could pick your colors is if you have certain flowers you definitely want. Certain flowers will look awesome with certain colors or clash with others. HTH! Good luck!

Re: Is THIS supposed to be the biggest decision?

Thanks guys, you've all made me more at ease about this; I've been stressing over it for the past couple weeks now changing from this to that! I think I'll just wait for the bm dresses to then pick out colors because I really don't have prefrences with flowers or anything else.... I worry over everything, you must excuse me

So thanks for your help!
