Okay, so I have 12 people from Canada who are invited to the wedding. I'm mailing out the invitations this weekend (YEAH!). I'm not quite sure what to do for the RSVP's from Canada. The post office here does not sell Canadian stamps. They can sell me a voucher for each person at $2 each envelope. That seems a bit excessive for something that would usually cost 37 cents. And with all the money that we have been spending, every penny counts.
I would ask one of the people in Canada to send me some stamps but they're not very reliable. By the time they send the stamps, it would be time for the wedding.
Would it be tacky to send the invitation without the rsvp stamped envelope???

Re: Is this tacky????
I don't think it would be tacky. I did that for my guests in Italy. But, I made sure to write 'USA' on the bottom of the RSVP envelope.
I am sure they were understanding about my situation. How the heck was I supposed to get Italian postage?

I don't think it is tacky. You made a valiant effort with your investigation at the post office.

Wow, I did not even think of that! I sent out my invites with the US postage.

It's not tacky - I don't think that they would expect you to find/supply Canadian postage for the RSVP cards. I sent invites to Israel last week and I didn't put postage on the RSVP cards. i don't think it's a big deal.

did you ask your post office what the difference is? like if it takes two US stamps, then stick two stamps on. I don't think there should be a problem.

I think the post office sells air mail stamps that should be valid no matter where the letter is mailed to or from.
