is this tacky??

Original post by higginsk

some of our guests let us know that they would not be able to make the wedding when they got their save the dates. (they called us or emailed us) is it tacky to not send an invitation to them? fmil does not want them to feel obligated to send a gift, but i want to make sure that i don't look like an idiot by not sending them an invitation even though they received a save-the-date...

HELP!

My parents sent invitations to people that told them they couldnt make it - I don't know why, but it seems to be etiquette....

i agree with the sending and yes that's a good point about how plans change. my FH's uncle was planning a trip to europe that got post-poned so all of a sudden he was able to come to our e-party!...

also, you want them to still know that they are invited, it's the gesture of inviting that's important, making them feel that they are wanted there but if they can't make it that's OK-- but you wanted to include them either way.

I would definately still send the invite. You never know peoples plans may change.
